Creating images

Images explained - Short stories about making decisions

This page features a collection of posts that demonstrate how to add more interest to your photos. During the tour, I’ll guide you through this process. Some of these images were taken with a smartphone, proving that you don’t need expensive and heavy gear to achieve great results.

Creating meaningful images is what it’s all about. Snapshots are great for remembering where you’ve been, but if you want to give your photos more impact (and hang them on your wall) , you need to think about your vision—what you want to capture, how, and when. Sometimes you set out to create something specific, other times you discover something unexpected and bring your own vision to it. On my tours, you don’t need to worry about mastering this all right away, and you even don’t have to try it out on the spot. But if you’re curious and eager to learn, I’m here to guide and support you.

This is an insight into different scenarios and what I do to make the image work for me. Every photo here is a different situation and each one needs a different approach/technique.

When you look at the gallery, for each image I made choices. The compositions are the way I wanted them to be.
